Effects:
The effect of nitrogen on plants
1. When plants are lacking in nitrogen, the older leaves will turn green and turn yellow. When there is severe nitrogen deficiency, the leaves will fall off and the plants will be short.
When plants are deficient in nitrogen, the synthesis process of nitrogenous substances such as proteins is significantly reduced, cell division and elongation are restricted, and the chlorophyll content is reduced. As a result, the plants are short and thin, and the leaves are small in color. Because nitrogen can be reused in plants, young leaves absorb nitrogen from old leaves when nitrogen is lacking, so the old leaves tend to turn yellow and dry.
2. If the nitrogen in the plant is excessive, a large amount of carbohydrates will be used to synthesize protein and chlorophyll and other substances, which will greatly reduce the cellulose and pectin in the cell wall.
