In natural forms Humic acids, being a part of lignites or peat, are always connected into insoluble forms of calcium, magnesium, aluminum forms, and there they are low biologically active and insoluble. Recommend application norms of those products are close to 2 000 pounds an acre. It is simply not practical and economical. They need to be converted into soluble Humates, soluble Chelats or pure Humic Acids to release their biological activity.
